The Governors are seeking to appoint an SEN 1:1 teaching assistant who will be working in Key Stage 1 supporting a child with specific learning difficulties.

The successful candidate should have:

  • NVQ certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning Level 2 or above or certificate of similar standard.
  • Have an understanding of children with special educational needs. Experience of working in KS1 setting is desirable.
  • Have experience of working with children with ADHD, ASD, PDA.
  • A real commitment to working with children and those who impact their lives and educational experience including parents/carers and a range of multi-agency professionals.

The successful candidate should be:

  • Committed to raising standards for our children.
  • Have a high level of motivation and initiative.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with a good sense of humour and the flexibility to take on the diverse roles.

Dinner Supervisor (Fixed Term)

 

We currently have a vacancy for a dinner supervisor at the school.

A summary of the job description is as follows:

  • Control queues to dining areas.
  • See that the overall arrangement for children to dine promotes an orderly and pleasant meals service.
  • Assist as required to relieve any 'bottle neck' in the queues of children waiting to be served
  • See that any spillage is removed quickly. Have an arrangement so that a floor cloth, dustpan and brush can be obtained easily, if required.
  • See that trays are not left in dangerous positions and are wiped where necessary.
  • Supervise return of used crockery and cutlery by the children.
  • Ensure the pupils leave the tables clean for next occupant
  • Encourage children to use appropriate table manners
  • Ensure that all children are encouraged to finish their meal and report any concerns to the class teacher, head teacher or a member of the senior management team
  • See that dining areas are left clean and tidy.

Supervision outside dining areas

  • Arrange your supervision so you move around amongst the children within the area you are covering. It is particularly important that supervisors patrol the whole of the playground/field areas
  • Ensure acceptable standards of behaviour are maintained.
  • Try to avoid children hurting themselves or damaging property.
  • Large class name cards to be used to inform children when it is their turn to go into the dining room
  • Supervision to work to a timetable which ensures that a supervisor will keep to the specified changeover time.
  • Ensure that the supervision process starts at least five minutes before the children’s lunch break starts
  • First aiders should request a supervisor from the dining room to temporarily support on the playground to ensure that there is consistent supervision. If there is a shortage of dinner supervisors, support should be requested from the Senior Management Team

General

Undertaking any other duties which may reasonably be regarded as within the nature of the duties and responsibilities/grade of the post as defined.

It is desirable that the successful applicant is First Aid trained - or willing to be trained to become a First Aider

Terms and conditions:

Fixed Term contract – Commencing ASAP

Time on duty: 12.15 – 1.30 (approx.) Mon-Fri, term time only.

Pay: £9.25 per hour
