Sports Premium

Sports Premium Funding at St. Andrew’s CE Primary School, Shifnal

What is it?

Sports Premium 2016-17

From September 2013, all schools have received additional money from the government to support sport in school in the form of a Sports Premium
Grant.

St Andrew’s CE Primary School received £9,215 for the last academic year which was used to continue the great work already done and embed the high quality teaching.

This academic year, we will receive £9250. The money will be used for ensuring high quality sports coaches are available to support all children and provide CPD for staff. It will also enable a Change for Life programme to be run during lunchtime and continue to train and engage our Play leaders and Bronze Ambassadors. The  cost of some transport and supply cover to release staff  for courses and to take children to a wider range of local sports competitions, as well as extra trained swimming teachers will also come from this funding .In addition we will continue to be a part of the Shropshire Sports Partnership.

The school and governors are committed to providing access to high quality teaching for all pupils and increased opportunities to compete at varying levels. Please see impact statement for 2015-16.

How we are using it at St. Andrew’s CE Primary School

The funding is used in a number of ways and is supplemented by further allocation of money from the school budget. These include:

The appointment of Active8 to provide one hour of PE tuition for each child every week.   With the opportunity for CPD for staff.

£8000

Purchase of a service level agreement to join in with the Idsall School-based South-East Shropshire Schools’ Partnership

£2000

The purchase of appropriate resources and materials for the delivery of the PE curriculum

£500
